Drives
Our drives are dug to a depth of 250mm of the finished level. 150mm of type 1 hardcore is laid and compacted, then 50 mm of sharp sand is laid, and again compacted. The blocks are then laid on this solid and porous base.
Patios
When building a patio we use solid, sub-base material. The slabs are laid on a FULL bed of sand and cement. A technique some companies choose to ignore! This base gives the best adhesion to the slab, meaning less chance of shifting or loose slabs.
